Greeting the New Dawn - Mystical Equinox firewalking & Shamanic Ritual in Kilmartin Glen
Monday, 19 March 2012 at 17:30 - Tuesday, 20 March 2012 at 08:00

Let the drums carry us to the heights of heaven as they bathe us in the sound of the heartbeat of the Earth!

The Celtic Land of Kilmartin Glen has been made sacred since ancient times, before history. Mystical hills, standing stones, tree groves and old places of worship, speak of the wealth and beauty of the human and Divine spirit.

In this sacred land, Fotoula will facilitate an evening of mysticism, shamanism and higher connection. Firewalking in Eastern Europe, including Greece, is still perceived as a mystical connection between humans, saints, Archangels and highly evolved spirits. The human person joins with the higher powers of the universe and shines that power through the body in a mystical dance across the fire. The drums, synchronized with the energy of the fire, will carry us across the hot coals.

This is an event that will start on the night before the Equinox on Monday 19 of March with an equinox ritual and mystical firewalking. The next day we will gather at 4.30am and drive to the standing stones aligned to the Equinox light and greet the Equinox at the exact time when at its pick, when the energies are at their highest at 5.14am. We will celebrate an equinox ritual at the standing stones, as directed by the Ancestral Spirit-Keepers of the Land and we will then come back and share breakfast.

The evening will include:
Equinox Ritual and shamanic practices on Monday 19 March 2011

Firewalking : Lightening your Inner Fire

Firewalking has been practiced by communities throughout the globe, on every continent. It has been a traditional ritual to celebrate major events and especially the rite of passage between one stage of life to another. Throughout the globe communities have been firewalking for thousands of years as means to personal as well as collective empowerment. By walking on hot coals we are able to break away from old patterns and use the energy of the fire to literally fire up our dreams!

Today we experience a revival of firewalking for all sorts of purposes, from celebrations of festivals, to team building and self empowerment. It is used successfully in the corporate world to focus the efforts of a business team towards a common goal as well as by New Age groups celebrating the changing of the seasons! The beauty of a firewalk is that it ignites our personal power so that if we are able to walk on hot coals, we realise we have the power to fulfil our most secret dreams.

In a firewalking seminar, we will have a theme or intention for the group. The most common one is to find in ourselves something that really moves us, our dream, that in order to achieve we are prepared to change our belief system (all those thoughts that say no you can’t do it) and walk on hot coals. In a way we place our dream in the middle of the fire and we walk and claim it. However, a firewalk can have any particular theme or purpose and we can tailor our seminar to that effect. The most important thing is that it is for most people an exhilarating experience and at the end it is all about having a good time!

A fire walking seminar takes place in the evening between 6-11pm. During the seminar we will use empowering techniques to prepare the group for the fire and raise our energy levels. This takes about three hours and it is when most work is done. We then firewalk for between 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the size and the type of the group. We usually have live drumming during the firewalk to keep motivation and energy levels high. At the end of the evening we have a closing share, an opportunity for people to share and talk about their experience.

Common questions about a firewalk:

1. Is there a trick on walking on hot coals?

The only trick is that we are as humans able to firewalk since ancient times. It is about raising our energy levels and having a clear focus and intention.

2. Is it possible to burn our feet?
Yes, this is a possibility. People have been burned by walking on hot coals.

3. How bad can the burns be?
Sometimes people get a blister, this is called in firewalking language, a fire kiss. This is supposed to be a healing from the fire. Foot reflexology charts show which part of the body needed the healing. Sometimes, such a fire kiss will be away the next day or within the next few days. However, there is a possibility that this may not be the case. People have suffered serious burns through firewalking and it is up to the individual to decide to walk, they are walking on their own risk.

4. Can I have a drink prior to a firewalk, maybe it will help me through it?
Alchohol inhibits our ability to focus and we should never firewalk if we had a drink. There is more of a possibility to burn if we have alchohol in our blood. We need to be sober and present during a firewalk. Any drink or drugs will almost result in burning ourselves. We also reserve the right to stop you from attending a firewalking seminar if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs or we consider that you are not fit for firewalking for whatever reason.

5. Do I need to bring anything?
You just need to bring an outdoor jacket as firewalking takes place out in the open and a bottle of water for your own purposes.

6. Do I need to be of a certain faith ?
Firewalking is not related to any religion or particular spiritual practice. It has been practiced by people from different religions around the globe.

7. What would you say is the main benefit of a firewalk?
Apart from personal empowerment, healing from the fire, there is also a great feeling-good factor about a firewalk. People report feeling happier and joyful and at the end it is about having a good time!

9. What are your qualifications?
I am an advanced firewalk instructor certified by Sundoor Firewalking school, based in USA. I have taken part in numerous firewalks and walked many times. I am also a spiritual coach and I am used to holding seminars on a number of alternative therapies such as transformational breathwork, Reiki and other forms of healing as well as shamanic journeying.

Costs
The cost of a firewalk depends on the type of group and the location.
If you are representing a particular group we can work a seminar based on your needs.

Note

Firewalking does have the risk that you may sustain serious burns.
Firewalking should never be practiced on your own or at home. You should only consider this if you are guided by a Sundoor qualified firewalk instructor. You always firewalk at your own risk. We also retain the right to stop you from firewalking in such a seminar for whatever reason.

Healing consultant has no responsibility or liability for any physical, emotional or mental damage suffered from you as a result of reading these pages, taking part in a firewalking seminar or practising firewalking of any kind.
